[...] The big success of the first PALENC Conference organized in Santorini in 2005 has encouraged us to continue. In this second, joint conference, the most innovative aspects of technology dealing with ventilation and passive cooling techniques able to improve the environmental performance of buildings are presented. Scientific works related to ventilation, solar control, thermal mass, thermal comfort, urban microclimate landscaping, low energy architecture, innovative components and materials, legislation and regulations, advanced and alternative air conditioners, demand side management, etc, will be discussed. Some 340 papers from 36 countries have been accepted and are included in the program.
